I am  a freelance design and technology consultant, designing workshops for schools, specifying machinery
and working often with major architectural practices.  Building woodwork lathes and turning large

quantities of timber occupies much of my time.

Australian timbers are a favourite medium and
working on a large scale, up to 500 kilos is
both challenging and particularly satisfying.

My other main love is making furniture and
Working  with spalted timbers, especially

beech.
